ORANGE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. buttermilk

Cream butter and add sugar gradually. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add orange peel and vanilla. Beat until light. Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add to above mixture alternately with buttermilk, starting and ending with dry ingredients.

Chill dough for an hour. Drop rounded teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen cookies. Frost with Orange Frosting.

ORANGE FROSTING:

2 tbsp. butter, softened
1 tsp. grated orange peel
2 tbsp. orange juice
2 c. sifted powdered sugar

Cream butter and add orange peel and juice. Blend. Beat in powdered sugar.
