SOURDOUGH CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/2 c. starter
1 c. water
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. non-fat dry milk
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
3 sq. melted chocolate

Mix starter, water, flour, and non-fat dry milk and let ferment 2-3 hours in a warm place until bubbly and there is a clean sour milk odor. Cream fat, sugar, flavorings, salt and soda. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
