1 c. sugar
Butter, size of an egg
1 egg
1 c. stoned prunes or dates
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
Pinch of baking powder

Pour hot water over dates or prunes and soda and let cool. Mix sugar, butter and egg until creamy. Add flour. Mix well and add prune mix. Stir until well mixed. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done, when toothpick comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream.
