PRUNE COOKIES 
1 3/4 c. raw quick Quaker oats
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. butter or shortening
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 tsp. baking soda

FILLING:

18 prunes, chopped
1/2 c. white sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2-3 tbsp. jelly (any kind)

Mix first 5 ingredients until crumbly. Divide in half. Spread in 14x10x2 inch pan.

FILLING: Cook until sugar is melted, cool. Spread over crumb mixture. Sprinkle remainder of crumbs mix over top and press down. Bake in slow 325 degree oven for 30-45 minutes until brown. Do not over bake. Cut into bars. I'd double the recipe, they are so good.
