COLD WATER BUNS
2 c. cold water
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1/3 c. vegetable oil
8 or 9 c. flour
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 oz. cake compressed yeast dissolved in 1/3 c. lukewarm water

Mix around 5 p.m. Cover and let rise until 10 p.m. Form and put in pans. Cover and let rise at room temperature until morning. Bake at 350 degrees. Make buns or rolls small. They will double in bulk. For rolls, roll out, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll up. Cut crosswise 1/2" thick. Grease round cake pans with 2 tablespoons butter. Sprinkle with 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1/3 cup chopped pecans. Dribble over 2 tablespoons Karo syrup. Place rolls on sugar. Makes 3 pans sweet rolls.
