CHICKEN CREAM TORTILLAS
CASSEROLE
 
12 corn tortillas
1 onion, chopped
1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies
Taco sauce to taste
8 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 tbsp. cooking oil
1 1/2 c. half & half
Salt & pepper to taste
3 c. cooked chicken or browned hamburger

Pass tortillas through hot oil to soften. Drain on paper towel. Sprinkle with salt and tear into quarters. Set aside. To make sauce, saute onion in remaining oil. Add half and half. Add chilies, salt, pepper and taco sauce. Simmer 5 minutes. In buttered 2-quart casserole, layer tortillas and meat, sauce and cheese. Bake uncovered, for approximately 40 to 45 minutes. 6 servings.
