40-50 squares saltine crackers 1 lg. bag chocolate chips 1 c. sugar 1/2 lb. butter Line cookie sheet with foil; cover entirely with saltine crackers. On stove, cook sugar and butter until it is a caramel color. Spread mixture on crackers and bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and pour chocolate chips evenly. Replace in oven for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from oven and smooth chocolate chips immediately with a spatula or knife. Refrigerate and break into pieces over cooled. (Nuts may be added.) |
