SHORTCAKE-COBBLER | |
1 c. flour 1 tbsp. sugar 3 tbsp. Crisco 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk Blend dry ingredients with pastry blender. Add milk and stir to moisten. COBBLER: Blend: 3/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. cornstarch Also will need: 1 c. boiling water 1/2 tbsp. butter 3 c. fruit with juice (peaches or apples best (use seasonal fruit) 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (optional) Blend dry ingredients. Add fruit and water. Pour fruit mixture into ungreased 8 x 8 inch pan. Dot with large tablespoons of shortcake batter (about 6-8). Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes until lightly brown. |
