DUTCH OVEN SWISS STEAK | |
2 lb. round steak 1/2" thick Flour 1 tbsp. salt 1/2 c. chopped celery 1 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. MSG 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 c. water Tenderize steak. It may be cut into portions or cooked whole. Rub in as much flour as the meat will hold. Brown steak on both sides in melted shortening. Use heavy skillet. Place in Dutch oven. Season with salt, pepper and MSG. Add onion and celery. Pour water into skillet to dissolve drippings. Pour over steak. Cover and bake in 300 degree oven until tender, about 2 hours. |
