PRUNE SPICE CAKE 
2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped cooked prunes or junior prepared prunes
3 eggs
1 c. Puritan Oil

Beat eggs until creamy, add sugar and oil. Beat 1 minute more. Add dry ingredients, buttermilk, vanilla, chopped prunes. Bake in large pan for 1 1/2 hours or more. Toothpick will come out clean when done.

SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 tsp. butter

Cook until a soft ball will form in cold water. Cool slightly then pour over warm cake.
