TREACLE TART 
1 egg, beaten with 1 tsp. water
2 c. of treacle
1 1/2 c. of white bread crumbs
1 tsp. lemon juice

Mix together and spread in a 9 inch unbaked pastry shell. Place lattice work pastry over the top. Bake at 325 degrees for approximately 30 minutes. Serve hot with sweetened whipped cream. (New Orleans molasses is the American substitute for treacle.)
