PECAN CARAMEL BARS 
2/3 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
28 caramels
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. butter
2 eggs
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour; mix well. Press dough in bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Melt caramels with water and butter over low heat, stirring occasionally until smooth. Combine eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt. Gradually add caramel sauce; mix well. Stir in pecans, pour over crust, continue baking 15 minutes. Cut into bars. Coconut can also be added.
