PEAR PRESERVES 
10 lb. pears after they are peeled & quartered
5 lb. sugar

Peel pears, cut into quarters and place in large container. Cover with sugar and let stand overnight. In the morning bring to a boil and let cook until fruit has a clear, transparent appearance and syrup is somewhat thick. Pack into hot sterilized jars, seal and process 15 minutes in waterbath at simmering temperature.
