SOFT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda (dissolve this in the milk)
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugar. Add rest of ingredients and stir well. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for approximately 12 to 15 minutes or until brown. Yield: 3 dozen cookies.
