SNICKERDOODLES 
1 c. soft shortening (half butter)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour (self-rising)
2 tsp. cream of tartar
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon

Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs thoroughly. Mix flour and cream of tartar. Stir flour mixture into other mixture. Form into balls the size of a small walnut. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Roll balls in sugar and cinnamon mixture. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
