CARAMEL POPCORN 
4 qts. freshly popped corn
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Put popcorn in large shallow roasting pan. In heavy saucepan, mix sugar batter (oleo), corn syrup and salt. Stir over medium heat until boiling. Continue boiling without stirring 5 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and soda. Pour over popcorn, stir to coat well. Bake 1 hour at 250 degrees, stirring every 15 minutes. Cook, break apart and store in tight fitting container.
