DATE NUT ROLL 
3 c. sugar
1 c. canned milk
1/2 stick butter
1 pkg. chopped dates
Nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Cook sugar, milk and butter to soft ball stage, add chopped dates and cook to medium hard ball stage. Remove from heat, add vanilla, salt, nuts and beat until ready to set. Pour on damp cloth and roll. (You can add a small jar of marshmallow creme too, when you add the nuts.) Stir continuously after you add dates because it burns easily.
