AUNT TEEN'S APPLE BUCKLE CAKE 
BATTER:

1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk
2 c. sliced, peeled apples

CRUMB TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter

Batter: cream together butter, sugar and egg. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Mix dry ingredients and milk alternately into creamed mixture until smooth. Grease and flour an 8 inch square baking dish. Pour batter into baking dish. Make crumb topping by mixing together all ingredients listed for it as above. put a handful of the crumb topping over the batter then place the apples over this. Put remainder of topping over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 40 minutes.
