LULA'S PEACH COBBLER
COBBLER:

Measurements are not needed, just taste as you go along making it as sweet and spicy as you like.

Canned sliced peaches
Allspice
Nutmeg
Sugar
Lemon juice
Vanilla extract
1 stick butter
Cinnamon
Water (to keep cobbler from getting dry)

CRUST:

Flour
Shortening
Ice cold water (this is what makes the crust hold)

Mix all of the cobbler ingredients together to your taste for sweetness, using everything except cinnamon and only one half stick butter. Once mixed, place into a deep baking dish. Preheat oven to 350°F.

Using a knife, cut cold butter into flour, mixing roughly; add ice cold water and mix lightly until a ragged dough is formed. Roll dough into a thin layer and cut into strips. Once cut, place a few small squares into the cobbler mix for thickening and put the rest on top of the cobbler in a tic-tac-toe type design. Pour the rest of the butter on top and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake for 30 minutes or until top crust is brown.

Note: If you are not familiar with making a crust for a cobbler, use 1 1/2 cups Bisquick prepared according to package directions as the crust.
