8 flank steaks, thin 6 bacon strips 1 onion Mustard 2 bay leaves Dice onion and bacon. Roll out flank steaks. Lightly cover surface with mustard. Sprinkle onion and bacon evenly over each steak. Roll together into a meat roll. Fasten ends with toothpicks. Quick fry meat rolls in frying pan with about 3 tablespoons of oil. Add 1/2 to 1 cup of warm water and bay leaves. Cover and simmer until meat is tender. Thicken gravy 1/2 cup of cornstarch and season to taste, you may add 2 teaspoons of red wine or sour cream for extra flavor. Serves 4-6. |
