GIANT CINNAMON ROLLS | |
3 1/2 c. flour 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 pkg. dried yeast 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. milk 1/4 c. butter 1 egg In large bowl, combine 1/2 flour-sugar-salt and yeast. Blend well. Heat water, milk and butter. Add warm liquid to flour mixture. Add egg, mix well with wooden spoon or mixer, 3 minutes. Gradually continue adding flour until dough pulls away from sides of bowl. Put on floured surface; knead until dough is smooth, about 10 minutes. Place dough in well-greased bowl and let rise in warm place until double. Prepare 9x13 inch pan, grease well. Combine 1/2 cup corn syrup, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, raisins and nuts, if desired. Mix well. Spread mixture in greased pan. Roll out dough into 12x10 inch rectangle. Spread 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, raisins or nuts, if desired. Roll jelly roll fashion, seal seams, cut into 12 (1 inch) rolls. Place cut side down in pan. Cover. Let rise until double. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes until brown. Immediately invert pan to turn buns out. Best served warm. |
