ST. MARTIN'S TABLE DOUBLE
CHOCOLATE OATMEAL COOKIES
 
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1/3 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips, semi-sweet
3 c. rolled oats
1 1/4 c. flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine first seven ingredients; beat well. Stir in chips, then oats, then flour. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes. Do not underbake. Let cool on cookie sheet for a few minutes before removing with spatula.
