CHOCOLATE DEVILS FOOD CAKE 
3/4 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. hot coffee
3/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 c. boiling water
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 sq. 8"-9" pans

Cream butter; add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Melt cocoa in hot coffee, then add to egg mixture. Sift flour and salt and fold into other ingredients until thoroughly blended. Mix baking soda and boiling water. Add and blend into mix. Add vanilla last. Pour into ungreased waxed paper lined pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Frost with chocolate frosting.
