SWEET DILL PICKLES 
1 gal. lg. cucumbers, cut in 1" slices
3/4 c. salt

Add salt to boiling water to cover cucumbers; let stand overnight. Drain and rinse in the morning. 1 tbsp. alum 3 pt. water 1 tbsp. turmeric

Bring above ingredients to a boil. Add cucumber slices. Simmer for 30 minutes. Take pickles out and pack into jars. Cover with the following syrup mixture. 1 tbsp. pickling spices 6 c. sugar

Put vinegar, sugar and pickling spices in pan and bring to a boil. Pour this mixture over pickles in the jars and seal. Let stand 2 weeks and they are ready.
