APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. lard
1/2 c. milk

Mix together and roll out, cut into 8 squares and fill with apples or any fruit of your choice. Pinch closed so fruit is covered with dough. Put into baking dish. Cover with syrup.

SYRUP:

2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. butter

Mix together and heat. Pour over dumplings. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.
