DATE PINWHEELS 
1 c. (each) butter, white sugar, brown sugar
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugars; add eggs. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick in rectangle shape; spread with filling and roll as you would a jelly roll. Chill 1 hour; cut into 1/4 inch slices; bake on greased cookie sheets 3 inches apart for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees; cool.

FILLING:

1 lb. dates
1/2 c. white sugar
3/4 c. water
1 c. finely chopped nuts

Cook until mixture is a thick paste; cool.
