DOROTHY'S BRAN MUFFINS 
1 c. Bran Buds
2 c. All-Bran
1/2 c. chopped dates or raisins
1 c. boiling water, pour over dates or raisins
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. salad oil
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. buttermilk

Mix sugar, oil and eggs. Add buttermilk. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to sugar mixture. Mix quickly. DO NOT beat. Add bran mixture. Add dates and water they soaked in. Mix. Bake in muffin tins at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. The batter can be stored in refrigerator. Do not stir batter after it has been in refrigerator. Makes 26 large muffins.
