PLANTATION SHORTCAKE 
1 chicken
2 qt. water
Salt
1 c. sliced mushrooms
1 c. green peas
1 c. whole kernel corn, drained
1 sm. jar sliced pimento
1 green pepper
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 can cream of chicken soup

Boil chicken in water. Remove from bone. Combine remaining ingredients in chicken broth, add chicken. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook for 20 minutes. Thicken to desired consistency with 2 tablespoons cornstarch in 2/3 cup water. Great with cornbread.
