CARAMEL PIE 
1/2 c. sugar, caramelized
2/3 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
1 baked pie shell
3 egg whites for meringue

Melt and brown or caramelize 1/2 cup sugar in iron skillet. Mix flour and sugar, stir in milk and egg yolks, cook on low heat and when it begins to get hot and thicken, add caramel syrup, stirring all the time.

Cook until thick. Pour into baked pie shell. Using the 3 egg whites, make a meringue by your favorite recipe.
