BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES | |
7 c. sliced cucumbers 1 c. sliced onions 2 tsp. salt 2 c. sugar 1 c. white vinegar 1 tbsp. celery seed 1 tbsp. mustard seed Place cucumbers, onions and salt in a large bowl. Heat remaining ingredients over low heat until all sugar is dissolved. Pour sugar mixture over cucumber mixture and let stand (refrigerated) for 24 hours. These can be frozen until ready to serve! Makes 2 quarts. |
