LUMPIA (PHILIPPINE MEAT ROLLS) | |
1 lb. ground beef or pork 3 carrots shredded 2 c. cabbage, coarsely shredded 1 onion, thinly sliced 2 c. frozen French cut green beans 2 c. bean sprouts 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 c. soy sauce 1 pkg. won ton or egg roll wrappers In large skillet or wok, combine ground meat and onion. Cook on medium heat, stirring. Add carrots, cabbage, green beans and bean sprouts, one at a time, stirring as they cook. Add garlic powder and soy sauce. Allow liquid to cook off the mixture. Set aside and allow to cool. Place mixture in center of wrapper. Fold corner nearest you 2/3 of the way over mixture, then right side, then left side, then roll and secure with water and press. Heat oil to 375 degrees and fry lumpia, a few at a time, until golden brown. |
