FRUIT CAKE 
1 stick butter
3 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. applesauce
1 box raisins
5 c. flour
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking soda in hot water
2 lbs. mixed fruit (cut up)
1 jar red maraschino cherries
1 jar green maraschino cherries
1 lb. English walnuts

Bake 1 hour in round or bundt cake pans at 350 degrees. Yield: 2 fruit cakes. (This is Connie White's recipe.)
