BOILED ICING 
2 c. sugar
3 egg whites
8 tbsp. cold water
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Bring sugar and water to a good boil. Add gradually a tablespoon at a time to beating egg whites. Keep sugar syrup boiling until all is used. Add cream of tartar and vanilla or almond. Beat until thick. I use about one teaspoon of flavoring off either one. I use this one for fresh coconut cake.
