CHOCOLATE CRACKLES 
1/4 c. butter
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, pre-melted or solid
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts (opt.)
Confectioners' sugar

In mixing bowl, combine butter and chocolate. Microwave at 50% (Medium) 1 to 4 minutes, or until melted; blend well. Beat in granulated sugar, eggs, baking powder, vanilla and salt. Stir in flour and nuts. Refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours.

Shape dough into 1" balls. Roll in confectioners' sugar. Place 6 to 8 balls in large ring on wax paper on baking sheet, dinner plate, pie plate or paper plate. Place 1 in center. Microwave at 50% (Medium) 1 1/2 to 3 minutes, or just until surface is dry, rotating 1/4 turn every 30 seconds. Remove wax paper with cookies on it to countertop; cool.

Makes about 4 dozen.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
