MRS. MONTIE'S FIG CAKES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 c. Crisco shortening
3 tbsp. milk
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
Cooked figs

Blend together salt and sugar. Then add Crisco, eggs and flour-baking powder mixture. Mix well. Turn out onto a floured surface. Roll the dough around in the flour until it is no longer sticky and can be rolled out.

Separate the dough into 2 equal portions and roll out each to fit a 10x15 pan. Place 1/2 of dough in the pan, pour cooked figs over dough and cover with the remaining dough. Bake at 350 degrees until brown.

Note: Use your favorite cooked fig recipe for filling.
