COOKIE JAR GINGER SNAPS 
2 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. Crisco or other shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses

Mix flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon and salt all together. (Set aside.) Cream shortening until soft. Add all other ingredients and blend well.

Form a teaspoon of dough into small balls by rolling lightly in palm of hand-dip into a dish of granulated sugar and place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 to 15 minutes or until tops are round and crackly. After cooling, store in airtight can. (Very good.)
