BUTTERMILK BISCUITS 
2 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup buttermilk

Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles corn meal. Add buttermilk. Turn onto floured surface and knead very briefly. Pinch off and roll biscuits. Place in greased pie plate with sides touching.

Bake at 350°F until golden brown. Do not overbake.
