PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE
2 c. white sugar
1/3 c. white syrup (Karo)
2 heaping tbsp. peanut butter
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix and cook all ingredients in a pan. Cook to the "soft ball" stage when dropped in cold water. (Use a cup of water almost ice cold for testing. It is at the "soft ball" stage when the candy will hold its shape when formed into a ball and begins to stiffen slightly. Test often as the cooking time is short.) When done, remove from fire, stir in 2 heaping tablespoons of peanut butter. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes, add vanilla and beat. When candy begins to stiffen and lose its gloss, pour onto lightly greased plate or pan. Cut into pieces when firm.
