CARAMEL SAUCE 
1 c. sugar cubes
3 eggs, separated
1 pt. sweet milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt sugar cubes in saucepan without adding water. Let it melt slowly to get a nice brown color. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks until light. Add milk. After the sugar has melted, add egg and milk mixture; cook until slightly thickened. Remove from fire and add vanilla. Cool. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
