JULIE'S SAUERKRAUT AND DUMPLINGS 
2 (20 oz.) can sauerkraut

Put in a large kettle. Add:

2 or 3 cans of water

Add:

Country style ribs (pork), about 8
1 tbsp. caraway seed (or to taste)
1 or 2 apples, grated
1/2 c. shredded cabbage
1 tbsp. sugar

Cook all day - add water if needed. Can put in 1-2 grated potatoes the last 15 to 20 minutes.

DUMPLINGS:

1 1/2 c. flour
2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
Chopped parsley (if desired)

Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add milk all at once and stir rapidly until blended. Drop by spoon on top of stewed sauerkraut, cover and cook moderately 12 to 15 minutes. Uncover. Take butter and brown butter in pan. Pour over dumplings in a bowl. Serve kraut in a separate bowl.
