GLAZED APPLE BREAD 
BREAD:

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. finely chopped apple
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 tbsp. milk

Gradually beat sugar into shortening. Add eggs 1 at a time, mixing in well. Add vanilla and milk. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add apple and nuts and add to first mixture; stir well.

Pour into loaf pan and bake in 350 degree oven 50 to 60 minutes. Let loaf cool in pan.

Mix topping ingredients and pour over loaf.
