SAUSAGE WITH RICE AND VEGETABLES 
1 lb. precooked Italian sausage
6 tbsp. butter
1 med. onion
1 1/2 c. quick brown rice
1 green or red bell pepper, seeded & sliced
1 pkg. frozen Italian green beans, thawed
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can beef broth
1 c. water
1/4 c. Parmesan cheese

Can substitute Polish sausage or bratwurst.

Brown sausage in the butter using a heavy shallow pan with a tight fitting lid. Remove from pan and keep warm. Add onion, rice and pepper. Saute 2 to 3 minutes over high heat, stirring until onion is tender but not browned. Add green beans, beef broth and water. Top with sausage. Cover and heat to simmering. Cook 15 to 20 minutes or until liquid is almost absorbed. Transfer to serving platter and sprinkle with cheese. Serve immediately.
