BROCCOLI A LA LOUISIANA 
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 stick butter
1 can mushroom soup
1 can mushrooms
6 oz. cheez whiz
2 frozen pkgs. broccoli (9 x 13 pan) or fresh to fit pan
Bread crumbs

Saute one fairly large onion (chopped) in one stick butter. Add one can mushroom soup (undiluted), 1 can mushrooms (drained), and about 6 oz. cheez whiz. Heat in large skillet until cheese is melted. Pour over broccoli that is arranged in dish. A combination of precooked fresh broccoli and cauliflower is also good. Sprinkle with bread crumbs (Pepperidge Farms stuffing mix or Italian bread crumbs is good). Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Double recipe (except butter) for 9 x 13 inch pan.

Can be made day ahead. Add extra baking time if cold from refrigerator.
