CHOW CHOW RELISH 
4 qts. cabbage
2 qts. green tomatoes
1 dozen lg. green bell peppers
1 qt. onions

PASTE:

2 tbsp. salt
1 1/2 tbsp. turmeric
1 tbsp. celery seed
2 lbs. sugar (1/2 dark brown & 1/2 granulated)
1 1/2 qts. vinegar
2 tbsp. dry mustard
3/4 c. flour

Cut cabbage small (do not grind), also tomatoes, peppers, and onions. Let stand in large bowl while making paste. Mix paste and cook with chopped vegetables about 10 minutes until good and hot. Put in sterilized jars while hot and seal. Hot peppers may be added to rest of vegetables if preferred. Makes about 11 pints.
