WHISKEY CAKE | |
1 box white cake mix 1 pkg. instant vanilla mix 1 oz. whiskey 1 c. milk 4 eggs 1/2 c. oil 1 c. finely chopped walnuts 2 tsp. flour 1/4 lb. butter 3/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. whiskey Bake at least 1 day early. Combine cake and pudding mix with 1 ounce whiskey and eggs. Beat well. Beat in milk and oil. Toss walnuts with flour and fold into cake mixture. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees about 60 minutes or until done. Leave cake in pan while preparing glaze. To make glaze: Heat butter, sugar and 1/2 cup whiskey until mixture is bubbling and butter melted. Pour mixture (hot) over hot cake in pan. Cool for 2 hours. Wrap in foil or plastic and refrigerate at least 24 hours. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when served. |
