SHOOFLY PIE 
1 c. brown sugar
3 c. flour
Dash of salt
1 c. shortening

Mix until crumbly.

LIQUID:

1 1/2 c. molasses
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix and place in 2 unbaked pie shells. Place crumbs on top of liquid and bake at 350°F for 50-55 minutes.

Makes two 9 inch pies.

Tip: Put hot water in a bowl first and add molasses. It dissolves easily this way.
