2 c. flour
1 c. salt
4 tbsp. cream of tartar

Combine flour, salt and cream of tartar. In another bowl, mix:

2 c. water
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. food coloring

Gradually stir liquid ingredients into dry ingredients in a large saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it forms a soft ball. Turn out on waxed paper and knead until cool. Store in airtight plastic container.
