CHOW MEIN | |
1 1/2 lbs. pork, cube 4 c. water 2 c. celery, sliced Salt and pepper 2 tbsp. flour 1 can mushrooms, undrained Chow min noodles 1 1/2 lbs. beef, cubed 2 c. cut white onion 1/2 - 1 c. tomato juice 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1 can drained bean sprouts Cooked rice Coat beef and pork in flour and fry until brown. Add water; let simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add onion, celery, tomato juice, salt, pepper, and soy sauce. Simmer about 1 hour. Then thicken with 2 tablespoons flour; add bean sprouts and mushrooms. Let this all heat up thoroughly. May add more of celery as well as more of any of the ingredients especially liked by family. Amount of onion is plenty. Put over cooked rice and top with noodles. May double or triple the recipe so as to have extra to freeze. |
