ENGLISH TOFFEE 
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 lb. butter
3 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
6 sm. plain Hershey bars or 1/2 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
3/4 c. chopped pecans

Place first 4 ingredients in medium saucepan and cook on medium heat until brown. Stir constantly, about 20 minutes. Pour into 10x13 inch buttered pan. Lay Hershey bars or chocolate chips on top of hot mass. When melted, spread. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool. Break into pieces.
