MY GRANDMA'S ORANGE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
juice and grated rind of 1 orange
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
5 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk

Icing:

2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter
orange juice

Cream the butter and sugar together. Add orange juice, rind and eggs. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients together. Alternate adding the milk and dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake 12 minutes at 350°F or until golden brown. Allow to cool before icing.

For icing, cream powdered sugar and butter together. Add enough orange juice the make the icing "of a spreadable consistency".

Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
